The Widow's Might is 1 out of 8 Feature Finalists in the SAICFF

We are very thankful to be able to announce that The Widows Might, is now officially a FINALIST in the feature film category at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival. Out of 250 submissions, over 50 of those were feature films; and out of those 50, only 8 were chosen as finalists for the festival.

Other feature film finalists include Expelled, Fireproof, Throw a Few Things on the Ground, Pendragon, Pilgrim's Progress, The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry, and the Sound of a Dirt Road.

From 900 dollars, to 500,000 dollars, a variety of God-honoring films will compete for the votes of the festival attendees, and the five festival judges.

Who will make it?

Join us in San Antonio this January, and just maybe we'll see. :-)

Blooper # 1

Editing, we often find some great bloopers... Since I haven't posted anything else in a while, I thought this would be a testimony that we're editing!

We estimate the finished film will be 100 minutes, and we're 78 minutes into the edit now. Then we have to work on sound, score, and color, in that approximate order. :-) I'll try to get more up and online over the coming week.

Van Wyk: Composer

Willem Van WykA Native South African, Willem van Wyk now lives with his family in beautiful Medford, OR. Willem started playing piano at the age of three. His parents bought an electric organ, hopeful that his sister might pursue an interested in music. To their surprise, Willem, one day after church, came home, climbed up on the organ chair and with his feet dangling miles away from the foot pedals, his tiny fingers swiveled over the keys, playing the exact song he just heard in church. Then they knew, the organ was actually meant for him and that he had a talent for playing by ear. That was the beginning of a life filled with music.
